I think I would really enjoy an old school hexing contest! :o
But while I wouldn't mind something small for November Anniversary festivities, hopefully it doesn't take away from the usual hussle and bussle of the holidays! The moment Halloween's over I'm usually right into the Christmas spirit so I don't know if I'll get too into the 20 yr anniversary. :) I'm hoping to start up some Christmas and Holiday threads in November so as long as it doesn't put a hold on that I'm not too worried. :)

^ That's up to the community, I'd say. We mods can host stuff and spotlight what members are hosting etc etc, but whether or not a lot of stuff happens and gets lots of people joining in is all up to you guys. If it's not for you, just skip it. You can organize and/or join whatever you want, whenever you want. If you want to get started on christmas in the middle of nostalgia month, go ahead! Worst case scenario, people will wait a few weeks before participating.

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned but we could do gameplay competitions? Like the old ones I remember from PCG - don't know if those are common anymore. The kind of thing where everyone is sent a few petz without much choice as to what they receive, and they have to raise the two petz from the beginning - with all sorts of prompts for each day that have to be filled out on a site or on a forum thread :)
I think that could also get people to start playing the game more.

A gameplay contest would be perfect for nostalgia november! I could definitely host one as well.

i'm game for an old school hexing contest, how far old school do you mean? Having one that spans back to before petz workshop was created so everything has to be done in lnz would be lots and lots of fun, i'm not sure how willing people would be to participate though. don't forget about Hex Workshop!

I would love to contribute to this in the only way I know how! I could hold a hexie raffle with a nostalgia themed hexie - possibly asking for an answer to some petzy nostalgic questions like 'your first memory of Petz' etc. I know hexies are a 'newer' thing but happy to hold one if you guys would like!

SOOO I'm super late obvs but NOVEMBER IS (almost) UPON US and I just wanted to agree that the breeding contest and hexing contest sound really fun. OH and the gameplay contest I've always wanted to participate in a legit one since I read... Arie's gameplay contest entry/story. Georgie@FarmBarn IDK if you'd be into this but just gonna throw it out there, if you'd be interested you could totally make some old-school hexies.. like the hex-paints that were around back when people were first dabbling in mad-scientist petz alterations.. If you do hold any raffles I'm sure whatever you offer will be stunning <3 And those questions sound sweet c:

@scarebear - I'm not quite sure what old school hexies would mean - like just random painballz etc?! Happy to give anything a go!

Hahaha.. I'm not entirely sure either! You'd probably have to ask some of the veteran PC'ers to get specifics on what was in as far as trends and what-not.. AFAIK there was minimal addball work, lots of really fuzzied-up danes with attempts at pooftails.. maybe some simpler untextured paintballs in some bright colors? I don't even know if that was really a thing but some bright lisa frank type monstrosity would be something to see.

We should probably make use of this blindingly neon texture on every pet (tho if I'm being honest I still love this file)
