I decided I should try to participate in my own contest --- so here is my Petz Gameplay Journal! It's called Spotted Adventures because I'm going to be raising two spotty pups. I hope you enjoy!

DAY ONE: Get to know your petz! - Did you rename them? - What are your first impressions? - Do your petz get along with each other? The two petz I chose for this Petz Gameplay adventure are Crochet, a purebred, non-inbred, 10th generation dalmatian I adopted from Rho & Oriole, a mutt mix I originally bred to give away as a prize for this contest (but then I became attached). Both were renamed from their original names. Oriole used to be gameplaymutt-1 and Crochet was RR5. So, new names were definitely needed! I picked Crochet's name because his eyes reminded me of a cozy crocheted sweater. And Oriole was named after a bird I wish we got in our yard, but we don't see because we're not out far enough in the country. Pet Oriole looks nothing like the bird Oriole. Very quickly, I discovered they both are hilarious. They like to prance around, make surprised faces, and pose a little too! I decided to bring them both out together, after just a few minutes of playing with them each individually, to see if they got along. And not only do they get along, but they frequently mirror each other! Here's a cute picture of them "hiding" together. I think they're going to be very fun to naturally raise together!

DAY TWO: Let's learn about your petz' favorite things! - Do your petz have favorite foods or treats? - What toys do they like the most? Any toys they don't like at all? For today's challenge, I started with trying to figure out Crochet's favorite foods ... The leftovers were more fun for running around with than eating. As was the blue bowl of dog food. But the silver bowl was just right for Crochet this evening! Next, I let Crochet try three different kinds of treats to see what treat was his favorite. Crochet liked them all. Seems like he's an equal-opportunity-treat-lover! Finally, I took a bunch of toys out and let Crochet explore the Toy Closet. Very quickly he headed to the toy car, picked it up, and ran around with it! He did take a brief break from torturing his favorite new automobile to play some tug-o-war with me, though. I put Crochet away and took out Oriole so she wouldn't be distracted by her buddy. Since I already had all of the toys out, I decided to see if I could figure out which toys Oriole liked the most. She immediately went up to the bone to investigate it. She wasn't quite sure how she felt about it. But that didn't stop her from picking it up, cautiously. And then she was off! She raced around with her new favorite toy for several minutes. Like Crochet, she did take a brief break to play some tug-o-war with me. After playtime, Oriole was ready for a meal ... but first I needed to figure out which bowl of food she liked the most. Like with the toys, Oriole was cautious at first. Then excited ... Then she became enraged with the plate of leftovers. Finally, she went back to the blue food bowl to feast. After she was done eating, I brought out treats for dessert. Unlike Crochet, Oriole had a clear favorite - the chicken drumstick treats. She liked them so much she trotted around with the box for awhile. Since Crochet & Oriole love to spend time with each other, I took them both out and then littered the toy closet with paint cans and paint brushes of all different colors. While I worked on editing pictures for this post, I let them run around and play with the paint. They look pretty cute, I think. Thanks for reading!

DAY THREE: Time for a Fashion Show! - Did you find outfits your petz like? - Any articles of clothing they think are out-of-fashion/they don't like? Fashion Show. Fashion Show! FASHION SHOW! I was excited for this one --- it's always fun to dress up your pet and I haven't done that for a bit since I've been working on breeding litters, NIB projects, and other non-petzy things. So, a good idea to participate in this contest. I took out Crochet first to see what he might like to wear. And, true to form (as he's very easygoing), Crochet loved everything.First, we tried some hats and headpieces ... All of which looked fabulous. So we moved on to trying some outfits with themes ... And Crochet, of course, made a wonderful pirate and sheriff. Next, I wanted to see how he liked animal print ... Have you ever seen a cuter elephant? Then it was Oriole's turn! Like her buddy Crochet, Oriole also loves a chance to dress-up! First, we tried some heats and headpieces again ... She has perfected the 'sit and look pretty' pose. Next we tried some shirts and themed outfits ... She's ready for fun in the sun or a wintertime exploration! There were more animal print options to try, so next we tried those outfits on ... And have you ever seen a cuter lion?! (The Zebra outfit isn't modified ... I was just too lazy to fix the drop shadow effect). After I had snapped a few photos of both pups, I decided to let them pick their own outfits. If you fill the clothes closet with clothes (just throw them on the ground) and then fill the room with the auto-rolling balls, your petz will randomly pick-up clothing as they play. [don't mind the mess!] So, I let the program run in the background for about 10 minutes and came back to see the results ... And I was not disappointed! Finally, I dressed the pups in some cute glasses and fed them dinner. An eventful day. Thanks for visiting!

DAY FOUR: Let's make some new friends! - Introduce your new petz to some of the petz from your crew! - Any new friendships? How about budding romance? Or even some rivalries? Today, Crochet and Oriole met some new friends! First, I introduced Crochet to some other dalmatians I had just added to my crew. Triad is a gorgeous new pup I got from Mouse's (of Mouse's Bakery) PUGS shop. Triad is an eigth generation, purebred, noninbred pup that was bred with the Cargo Mutating Dalico overwrite file. Triad clearly is destined for the showring ... just look at that lovely pose! Crochet was immediately obsessed with Triad ... and the feeling was mutual. They spent over then minutes playing. They also spent a lot of time wrestling. When I finally put Triad away so Crochet could meet another friend, Crochet sulked from a good minute. But it was time to meet another cute dali. Next up was Bookmark, one of my Petzy Book Bingo prizes! Bookmark is also from Rho (whom I got Crochet from). Like Triad, Bookmark is definitely going to be a show dog. She's a brexed dali mix, so she's unique and special. I was so excited she was still available when I completed enough challenges (and got enough BINGOs) to adopt her. Crochet and Bookmark played for a bit and were definitely friendly ... However, they had more interesting is just being cute within proximity of one another (as opposed to an extended playtime). To see if Crochet might not like another pet, I pulled a few more out to meet him. But true to his easy-going nature, Crochet was fine with everyone. So no enemies or rivalires --- yet! Next up, it was Oriole's turn. Oriole's first new potential friend was Kingfisher, my other Petzy Book Bingo prize! Kingfisher was bred by Tea of Hollow Kingdom. I was a big fan of Kingfisher's color combination & fun big tail and feet. At first, Oriole & Kingfisher were not sure of one another. But eventually, they calmed down and played a bit. However, Oriole was more of a fan of Kingfisher than Kingfisher was a fan of Oriole. Oriole spent quite a bit of time watching Kingfisher as she played with different toys in the Toy Closet. While trying to decide who next to introduce Oriole to, one of the grabbag pups I had gotten from Pip @ Charmme trotted through he unlocked door. He's currently named D9. I hadn't actually met this pup either (I just got him today!), so this was a new experience for both Oriole and I. I almost put him away when they started their interaction with growls ... But immediately following that tentative greeting, they started playing. They're absolutely best buds, so I guess I'll need to rename D9 ... so, I'm taking suggestions for names. He's very sweet and sometimes will walk around with the bulldog flex. Like with Crochet, I took out a few more petz to see if Oriole found anyone she was less fond of, but she either liked everyone or just was happy to exist in a room while they were also around. After playtime with their new friends was done, I brought Crochet & Oriole out at the same time to get some dinner. They're still the best of friends, but it's nice they now have some more friends to spend time with. Thanks for reading!

DAY FIVE: Backyard Hangout time!- Load up your travel toy case and head to the backyard for some time in the sun. - What do your petz like doing in the backyard? - Are your petz amateur gardeners? Try planting some seeds and see if they like what grows. We started our day in the Toy Closet where we laoded up the travel toy case with lots of Backyard-themed items (seeds, a watering can, and some toys). This is when I noticed I didn't have any fun updated seeds to grow (so that's a future project --- to find more toys to download!). Next, we were off to the Clothes Closet to get some sunglasses (because it's always sunny in the backyard --- so it's important to protect your eyes). Both Crochet & Oriole were big fans of the glasses. Don't they look cool? After they spent a few minutes posing and celebrating their glasses, it was time to head to the Backyard! I had some flowers already planted and immediately both pups ran right towards them. To help them finish blooming, I sprinkled them with some water. Oriole immediately ran under the water and was delighted with the experience. Crochet did not like the water at all and anxiously watched Oriole as she was getting watered. Next, I picked some flowers and laid them on the ground to see which flowers were the pups' favorites. Honestly, they liked all of the flowers, but Oriole played most with the rose and Crochet seemed to like the tulip the most. After playing with the flowers for a few minutes, they sat on the ground and howled at and with each other for several minutes. It was pretty cute! Per our normal routine, we finished the day with bowls of their favorite foods and then some rest time in the Toy Closet. Thanks for reading! We'll see you soon.

DAY SIX: Take a Trip to some new playscenes! - Take your petz to any playscenes they haven't visited yet. Do they have a favorite new place to visit? - Did they meet any petz hosts on the way? - Are your petz bringing home any fun souvenirs? Now that the Summer Olympic Challenge is completed (yay, Team Coconut!), I have time to work on this contest again. First, let's introduce two new pups that I'm naturally raising as part of the "Spotted Adventures". Dandelion is a new pup from Nebula's UGCh litter. She was my favorite pup the entire time and was still around when I got last pick. She's an absolutely sweetheart and I'm excited to get to play with her more. Fenton popped-out while I was breeding some pups for another Gameplay participant. He was too cute to give up and matched with this Gameplay theme, so it seemed like fate. He's a liver-spotted pup, but still spotted, so it works! First I got all of the pups dressed up to go to the Snow Scene. Everyone looked super cute in their hats and they even made a new friend! They all really enjoyed playing with the snowballs and running around! Next, we went to the Circus. The pups all dressed up like different animals and then met a ringmaster (even though he was a cat, they liked him a lot)! Such a ferocious group of creatures! Unfortunately, they didn't find any fun souvenirs this time ... but there's always the next trip to a fun new location! The pups from my Gameplay are now in the same folder as my Summer Olympics crew (read more about them HERE), so future challenges may feature some special guests.

DAY SEVEN: Free Day! A few participants used Day Seven as a chance to work on getting their gameplay pups & kittens their Good Petz Citizen titles (well the Foundation Baby Citizen title). I actually finished this yesterday, but forgot to update here as well after completing the form on the Petz Citizen thread. I could only enter three petz at a time, so Fenton is sitting this out (for now). Below are their entries! Title going for: FBC Pet showname: Rho/Witz's Tiny Threads Pet callname: Crochet SCP: Dalmatian Hexed clothing/toy items used: none Title going for: FBC Pet showname: Poppyhill/Witz's Come Rain or Shine Pet callname: Dandelion SCP: Dalmatian Hexed clothing/toy items used: none Title going for: FBC Pet showname: Witz's Sweet Herald of Spring Pet callname: Oriole SCP: Mutt Hexed clothing/toy items used: none

DAY EIGHT: Let's try to learn some tricks!- You've already learned which treats your petz like ... so let's see if we can teach them some new tricks! - What new tricks have your petz learned? Teaching my petz tricks is really one of my favorite petzy activities. There are so many fun tricks they can learn (and they look so cute learning them). First up was Crochet! Unsurprisingly, he learned very quickly! My favorite trick he learned was to leap onto the side of the screen and slide down it. For the toy trick he carried a toy to me, so I'm hopeful he might make a good flyball pet in the future. Little Dandelion was next ... She also did a great job! She flipped upside down to 'play dead', rolled over, stood on her head, leapt on the screen, and fetched the ball (though she tripped a bit bringing it to me). She's definitely got potential to be a great agility or trick dog! Fenton was the next one out of the door! It took a few extra minutes to get him going, but once he was focused, he learned five new tricks! Finally, we had Oriole ... I couldn't stop laughing at her. She learned to somersault, leap into the air to belly flop, roll-over, leap to the side, and fetch! She's maybe not the most elegant of the bunch, but she made up for it with general cuteness.
