Hello Whiskerwickians! This is the first of a probably very irregular series of threads, where you all get to vote on small changes to the forum. The poll will remain open for one month and whichever option gets the most votes will be implemented! When there is a draw or the neutral vote wins, the status quo is maintained.
Should the Bank feature be removed?
With there being no interest, the Bank feature serves no real purpose. On the other hand, maybe people like keeping some of their money out of direct reach so they don't overspend, or having a nice little stash of hidden coins to satisfy their inner dragon. What pros/cons do the people of Whiskerwick see to keeping or closing the Bank?
(Should the Bank be removed, you will be given ample time to withdraw your money first! Inactive members' balances will be moved to their on-hand amount manually.)

With there being no interest, the only noticeable aspect of the bank feature imo is that your account balance is hidden from everyone. So I have no idea who has 5 bones and who has 500 haha. You could definitely argue that this is a pro or that it’s a con, but I just thought I’d add the neutral secretiveness is what I notice most, that and maybe it helps some not overspend! I voted “couldn’t care less” as I thought it was the closest to “I’m cool either way”!
Edit; when thinking about it a bit more I find the secretiveness and the fact that the bank may stop you from spending too much to be positives, but overall my feelings are still not strong at all either way.

I've never used it personally but yeah, I'm ambivalent tbh. I just assumed that some people choose to regularly stash their bones in there (maybe those users with huge bone hordes lol) but I think I decided not to bother when I realised it didn't give interest haha.

This sums up how I feel as well I think :) I think I like having the bank, but it's not a big deal either way. I think I like forgetting how many bones I have and not flaunting my petz Financial Stability TM at the times when there are newly joined members struggling!!

Doesn't matter to me much since there isn't any interest collection with it anymore :3

.... There's a bank feature? LOL When I first saw this post... because I had forgotten there was one (because without building interest, I had stopped using and forgot it existed) I thought at first that Arie was suggesting that we got rid of bones all together and it took me a few minutes to remember about the 'bank.'

Yeah I didn't realise there was a separate 'bank' feature and totally thought this was about getting rid of bones and was a bit shocked! I didn't know about the bank feature but now I do, I will use it... I think it's good to not have it be obvious how much every person has. It levels the playing field. I gather that there used to be interest from the bank... Perhaps that would be something worth reintroducing (though I imagine there was a reason it was removed) to make it more appealing.

(though I imagine there was a reason it was removed) There sure was, haha. Inflation got way out of hand and we ended up having to reset the economy completely. So interest is not a feature that will be reintroduced lightly... if ever.
