Alley Cat week has begun!
The way breed weeks are planned has been changed a bit. Instead of having one for each of the 20 OBs in one year, there will be one breed week a month when no other big/recurring events are planned - so it will be about 8 - 10 breed weeks a year, depending on what else is going on. Breeds will be chosen at random, alternating between catz and dogz.
This should help keep things from following too soon after one another, both for organizers and participants.

It's a week (though really, doesn't matter if you are early/late/long/etc. as it's all purely for fun!); one week out of each month that doesn't have anything else going on.

Ohh I just saw this update, now I'm sad that it won't be alley week this time every year like a holiday (ah well at least I got one)
Will we get to know the breeds in advance or it will only be announced when the week starts? I usually try to collect ideas in advance since it takes me ages to actually finish something, whoops

I really liked the idea of having a fixed date for every breed, but 20 breeds is just a lot to fit into each year hahaha. Having them in less close succession will make them feel more like special occasions too, I think!
Hmmmm, there miiiight be (a) hint(s) pertaining to the next breed some time in advance. Sometimes it will be obvious, sometimes a little more vague, and it can be anywhere on the forum, so keep your eyes peeled!

Ok, do you post a separate thread announcing what breed it is? I couldn't find a calendar with the breeds, didn't know if it was a standing thing but from your response it isn't. Cool cool thanks!

No official announcement or anything, but I do try to drop some sort of hint somewhere a week or so in advance. (: In the past I've used the shout box, Teung's puzzle corner, the WW discord, etc.
If a lot of people would rather just know/have the breed flat-out announced, don't hesitate to say! Baby I can change...
While we're on the topic, guess I might as well commit. June's breed will be one many people are waiting on with bated breath!
