The hexie thing is rather unavoidable, I'd say.
I would be willing to make a few new hexies, offer litters of 5, and make it first come first serve? That way there's only 5 or so of the hex floating around and all with different eye colors.
I would also be willing to set up a multi-site scavenger hunt, puzzle situation, just like I recently did with my first Just Drew It.
Toys, clothes, and playscenes can all be prizes as well (though I have no know-how for making any of those) that aren't as problematic when it comes to too many people having them.

Yep, that's me with the unique awesome thing that I don't use anymore haha. I keep meaning to update my site and get it all on track but it just doesn't happen. I wish the unique downloadable adoptions weren't so complicated so other more active people in the PC could get some use out of it... However, I can put up donated pets for the one-click unique adoptions fairly easily, if you wanted to send them to me. The only thing is there's no stopping THAT ONE PERSON who is a jerk from downloading ALL of them. Actually there is a way to limit how many files a person can download within a period of time, so I could put it in like 3 per person per day or something. However, when I was actually keeping pets uploaded, nobody was that greedy and everyone was pretty thoughtful of others. But, my site won't work for a find-it since it's not really hideable, so it would have to be more of like December # gets linked to my site and they can download pets for the day, and I'll put them all up the night before, or on certain days I can even upload in batches throughout the day so that if there are some greedy people out there who adopt everything, there's still chances for others throughout the day. Or like, at the end of the day there's only not-so-pretty pets left? Batches would eliminate that somewhat. I'd totally be willing to "host" unique adoptions for a few days in an advent calendar. Like one day a week or something? It would even give me a great opportunity to adopt out like the 100 pets that are sitting in a folder right now just waiting for pics to get taken...However if we're gonna do this I'd want pics of the pets too so that I don't have to take them, that way I just upload the pic and pet file with a little blurb about who it's from and move on to the next pet. I went ahead and just did a quick sample of a pet so you can see an example. jewellz.net/Let me know if this is something you guys want to use in the Advent Calendar! I haven't had time to read the entire thread but I'd love an advent calendar! Dunno what this holiday swap is you guys say you have petz set aside for, is everybody assuming we'll have one here?! Haha anyways as for the hexie thing, all you can do is make a first come first serve litter, or give people a choice of eye colours/other varieties which you'll then whip up for them. Making it any more exclusive (ie by requiring applications) kind of defeats the concept of an advent calendar!

I think litters are much better idea and less complicated lmao with a forum like this perhaps? Name: Email: Which Day: Pet(s): i definitely think some rules should be in place such as limitations and some sort of sending system if we go down this forums route as it was a much smaller forum then whiskerwick.

Ahhh!!!! yes! that is amazing idea! I wasnt around for the calendar stuff but i found an old one a while back and i loved going threw the days. that is great!!

Unless anyone else wants to I'd be happy to put together a website with Wix and manage it so long as everyone makes images of their donations and such for it. I had written another post but it seems to have poofed from existence haha. But yeah I'd be happy to do that since I have a little free time around the Holidays and stuff.
Edit:
Threw something together last night. Have bred 38 litters in the last week or so to fill in any gaps in the advent calender but I highly suggest people submit photos to me via email or pm or something because nobody wants 24 days of just my bred and brexxed petz lol. I figure the best way to go about things would be to have a thread in Adoptions where people just leave their e-mail and what pet or whatever they want and then the person that bred or hexed said pet can send it to them.
