Witzy mouse Penny @ Just Dandy Lyric of Lemonade kathleen Megan@Xoops 🌼 shaina @ kizmet Thor JT Pegasus
Pegasus is first up today for our individual play sessions. He came out of the carrier with a big bark to let us all know he's here!
He showed a lot of hesitation toward his toys at first.
I know. The frisbee can be scary.
But finally, he gave it a sniff.
I threw it for him, but he was unwilling to bring it back to me. He would sort of just sniff at it before moving on.
He was willing to fetch the tennis ball though!
Is it an all-puppies thing, or a
these-puppies thing, that these dogs don't seem to understand tug of war??
Like all puppies, he's a clumsy little mess, constantly tripping over his own feet.
Something else to note, though I didn't manage to catch it on camera: I never got him to pose, but he would react to the camera by performing tricks. I got a few jumps and even a back flip out of him!
JulietJuliet's up next, and she came out the door and just stared at me with her big brown eyes.
She then went up to the tennis ball and batted at it (she missed).
But, she seemed
really apt to retrieve.
She also just really loves carrying her toys around with her. It's hard to tell in this picture, but she had the frisbee in her mouth as she tried to engage with the tug of war.
I'm really impressed by her. In addition to being a great fetcher, she also comes immediately when called. If she was engaged with a toy and I called her, she would immediately drop it and come running.
Interestingly, she's one of the only pups so far that I could not get to engage with the tug of war at all. She would not try to grab it when I held it out for her, and would usually turn her attention to another toy.
At one point, Jamilla ran out through the unlocked door, and though she was only out for a second or two, Juliet gave her a big friendly wave goodbye. So cute.
JamillaThe eager beaver got her turn next.
It took her quite a white to warm up to her toys. She was the most hesitant of anyone so far.
She abandoned the frisbee and ended up bring me the tennis ball, so I gave it a throw.
And she brought it back to me!
Like Juliet, she seems to be both a good retriever and good at coming when called. But she's
so clumsy. She might just trip over herself 2-3x on her way over.
She also did not seem to appreciate the camera. She didn't seem to posey or too trick-y, but she did play dead once.
Poor little clumsy babe.
FangFang came out next.
He turned his attention to the tennis ball next.
Then, he
tried to turn his attention to the frisbee. Key word: Tried. The frisbee was a good two feet away from him as he tried to interact with it.
Why is it not moving??
He kept this up for quite a white - probably ten swipes or so. He would even pause in his attempts to react to the camera, then go back to swiping the air.
Perhaps he's not the smartest in the bunch?
Finally, he figured out that he had to get closer to the frisbee if he actually wanted to play with it.
I gave it a throw, and he ultimately did bring it back to me.
Then, I test him on the tug of war.
Some other observations about Fang:
-He seemed willing to fetch and come when called, but he would often get distracted by other toys and change course.
-His favorite reaction to the camera was to puff his chest out and overpose.
RemiLast but not least, we have the youngest, Remi, who came out with immediate eyes for the frisbee.
I thought he was going to pick it up and bring it to me.
But instead he brought it to the other side of the yard to nuzzle with it quietly.
Something that I observed about Remi quickly is that he's really good at coming when called. But something I didn't notice with any of his siblings is that he will come to the cursor and immediately pop a squat.
I tested it out many times, and he's always come, then sit down.
He seemed less interested in fetching than some of the others. Sometimes, he would chase after the ball, but then not bring it back. Other times, like when I threw the frisbee for him, he would just stare at me, like,
No way, man.
And like Juliet, I could not get him to grab onto the tug of war. He would usually walk away to play with another toy when I tried.
And here's all their personalities lined up next to each other:
Our last update before the final round-up will be the group playdate! I'm excited to see how they all get along (and if anybody dislikes anybody else
)
