It's been a while since the last update, so here I am again with my little Pyr family.
Chanel and Armani hit age 100 and have officially entered the show ring. (I entered Chanel in a puppy show before so she had a bit of a head start.) You can find Armani's showroom here and Chanel's here.
I had a bit of a weird incident with Chanel. The day I brought her out to take her pose pics I noticed her animations were really broken - it seemed to me like she couldn't fully complete any animation loops. She also wouldn't move around very much at all, would glance at the cursor every single time the camera went off, and would start sliding across the screen if I held the spacebar down. After trying for hours to get her to do a single pose and restarting Petz and my computer several times to no avail, I figured she was broken for good.
Luckily I made backups of everyone a week or so before then, so I was able to check the backup and compare them. The old file seemed completely normal which confirmed to me that something really was amiss with her current file and I wasn't imagining things. I decided to just age up the old file and use it instead, since it would have been a shame for her to be stuck in that sad state forever. Here's an obligatory reminder to always back up your petz. You never know when the game will decide to destroy everything you love LOL.
In other news, I taught Armani the rest of his tricks. He actually does the wall slide after all!
Dior is growing like a weed. Here are some baby pics from last week.
And here she is today (4/7/2021) at age 69. Nice.
I got to thinking about the future of my naturally raised crew and decided it would be fun to expand a bit, and maybe aim to have a full line of naturally raised Great Pyrenees. So we have two new additions to the family - Hermes, a dusty male with the cutest eyebrows I've ever seen, and Prada, a pretty black and cream female.
As for whether they get along, only time will tell. Prada does get sad when Hermes is put away, but Hermes seems ice cold...
I introduced them to the others one by one starting with Hermes. He and Dior seem to hate each other, or at least Dior seems to hate him. He and Armani just took a nap together so I didn't get to see them interact much. He gets along with Chanel though, and looks so sad whenever I put her away.
Next up was Prada. Once again Dior mostly just glared at her... Armani showed her how to do some tricks which was absolutely adorable, but she looked so mad the entire time and was ecstatic when I put him away LOL. Like Hermes she and Chanel get along pretty well at least. Chanel is just a friend to everyone.

Back at it again with some puppy love. This time I DID actually want these two to breed, and they got right to flirting.
I'm excited to add another little potato to the family!
In other news these two got to participate in one of Dew's monthly contests. They helped me set up a nighttime camping scene, and by helped I mean they mostly just made a mess of the place while I struggled to wrangle them for pics 😂
Since the last update Armani has reached SGCh and Chanel is still working on her title. Dior is also fully grown now. It's interesting to me that she's quite a bit smaller than her parents. I love that there are so many subtle differences between them.

I have tried to write this post so many times now and my computer and internet have consistently thwarted me by freezing or randomly dropping out. So I just had to ragequit for a while LOL but here it is finally!!!
I forgot to take a screenshot of her birth certificate, but little Bijou was born on April 20th, which is quite the fortunate birthday. She inherited a pretty even mix of features from both of her parents - I absolutely adore the dusty spots on her ears!
I did introductions as usual, and interestingly enough Dior also got mad and started barking at me whenever I picked her up. I didn't notice anyone else do that aside from her either.
Prada does get sad whenever I put Dior away, but Dior doesn't seem to like her very much, so I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it. Just a personality quirk of hers perhaps?
The stage when they first start walking might be my favorite thing ever. They are just so cute bumbling around like this.

As of the time I'm posting this (5/1/2021) Bijou is age 27 and I've entered her in Rho's Photo a Day Challenge over on RKC. It will be running all May long, so tune in there for more live updates with her!

Small update time!
Elodie and Cyrille were both born on the 13th of May.
Since they were born on the same day I wanted to raise them together, but of course infants aren't much interested in playing and the moms were never very happy to see each other 😆 So they only got to romp around for a bit, but at least I got a few cute pics of them.
They're age 45 as of today (May 27th). They seem to hate each other to be honest, so they still don't really play together much 😅
However Cyrille managed to find a friend he really loves in Bijou!! As soon as I introduced them they started playing and copying each other's tricks... they're so cute......
I've been distracted with a million different petzy things lately. I think I've finally made up my mind about how I'm going to do my Pyr line from now on though, so you may be seeing some Pyrs up for adoption soon- if I can bear to part with them anyway LOL

Long time no see! It's been a few months since I last updated this... 😅
This little guy is Yves, born on 7/13/2021. He's my first 4th gen Great Pyrenees. I realize I failed to talk about quite a bit of his family here - it turns out I bit off more than I could chew by adopting way too many dogz at once to give them all equal amounts of attention.
Now with grey eyelids... he does carry the grey though!
I decided I wanted to do a full pedigree non-inbred Pyr line, but I was struggling to figure out how to go about it while also naturally raising on top of that. From now on I'm going to stick to only adopting two dogz at a time so I can more actively raise them together, and only breed them after showing them to SGCh. Then I can adopt a new pair. That way things will be less hectic and I can actually start updating this thread a bit more regularly (don't hold me to this though lol).
Here is Yves's family tree! Click the image to see the full size.
His parents are Therese and Alphonse. Alphonse's half of the tree will be more familiar since he's the grandson of Chanel/Armani and Prada/Hermes. Therese's family on the other hand I have not talked about here at all, so I wanted to spotlight them at least a little bit.
Sphene may be the prettiest Pyr I've adopted yet. She's named for the gemstone sphene, more commonly known as titanite, since she's such a lovely shining gold color.
If Sphene is the prettiest, Odilon is definitely the fluffiest of the bunch. He looks like a big soft cloud you can't help but want to hug. Fun fact, one of my favorite painters is named Odilon (one of these days I'm going to run out of French names to use 😂).
Camille is a bit of a quiet, sleepy girl. I think it's really cute when Pyrs are all solid white with just a mask marking.
This handsome fella is Etienne, Camille's partner in crime. They stick to each other like glue.
Aveline is a near carbon copy of Camille, while Lothaire looks just like Odilon. It's always fun to try and guess what my Pyr babies will look like. Sometimes they're very close to the parents, but other times they produce some pretty unexpected results. I wonder if one of these days a pure black one will pop out 😂
I have added everyone to my crew page under Petz > Hexed Breeds, as well as a section for adoptions. Since these guys are naturally raised and non-inbred I will sometimes end up with pups who don't fit into my line, so I will be listing them for adoption from now on. Currently there are four dogz listed, including one familiar face...
That's all I have for now! My goal is to finish showing all of the dogz I currently have to SGCh so I can start returning to this thread with more regularly-scheduled big dog shenanigans.
