They really all are great --- I thought I had my pick narrowed down, but after more time with them all I'm not sure, ha.

For today's assessment, I'm having the puppies play in small groups and also, one-on-one, with two of my more nurturing NIB dalis. I'm hoping to get a read on how sociable they are! First, let's meet the potential new friends: Arroyo & Horror! They're both typically very friendly and rarely have an issue with any of my other petz, so they seemed like the perfect pair to use for this project. Each pup will get to interact with each adult dog for a couple of minutes. For group play, I'll be splitting the pups into three groups of five to control the chaos a bit. Up first, we have A, B, C, D, & E. A & E and B & C immediately started play-fighting. D was more intrigued with something on the mantle. Then D took a break from trying to scale the mantle to watch B & C making sweet faces to each other. A & E engaged in a bit of wrestling. Just a few minutes later, D was back to plotting how to redecorate the mantle. B was trying to decide if jumping on furniture is allowed. A was now wrestling C ... and E was expressing displeasure over losing the last wrestling match by angrily scooting his butt across the carpet. After wrestling was done the pups circled around each other in a big pack of cuteness. Summary of Group One Play: - Pup A: very playful with his littermates! He engaged in some playful fighting & a lot of wrestling.
- Pup B: she was a nice combination of playful & calm; when other puppies engaged in playtime, she participated, but she was also fine just entertaining herself.
- Pup C: very friendly; she spent a little time with all of her littermates & seemed to match the energy level of whoever she was spending time with.
- Pup D: the least playful in a group setting of this bunch. She was very focused on something on the mantle (later discovered to be the fireflies in the bottle) and kept circling back to try to retrieve it.
- Pup E: probably the least predictable of the bunch during group playtime. He had a slightly grumpy expression for most of playtime, though he was never mean to his littermates.
Then it was time for some one-on-one interactions! A was excited to be out in the Living Room, but he wasn't actually that interested in playing with either of the other dalis, which was surprising because he really enjoyed wrestling with his siblings. He was playful, in general, but not necessarily in an effort to make any new friends. He might do best with some companions of his own age. B really enjoyed playing with both Horror and Arroyo, but really clicked with the orange dali. She even took a sweet little nap with him! I would say she's something of a 'social butterfly' and would do well in a home where she can have lots of friends to play with - with maybe some focus on finding a few specific 'best buds' for her. C continued to match the energy level of whoever she was playing with. Horror was a little quieter, so C just sat and gazed at her sweetly. Arroyo was in a more playful mood, so she was a little more 'wiggly' with him. She seems very adaptable and sweet. I'm guessing that she's got a high nurturing score. Now that she was no longer in a room with the fireflies in the bottle, D really enjoyed interacting with her new friends. They were both fairly calm and quiet, but D was very excited. She kept leaping into the air and spinning in circles in excitement. When not hyper-focused on a toy, she continues to be high-energy & engaging. E only had 'happy eyes' for Horror and Arroyo. He had an absolute blast playing with the older dalis. He raced in circles, leapt & spun, and crouched down to encourage play. He needs a home where he can have a lot of socialization time and make lots of new friends. Check back soon for an update on Group Two ( F, G, H, I, & J)!

Back with group two! I'm continuing to use Arroyo & Horror for the one-on-one assessments to try to keep the 'test environment' as similar as possible. The group play was up first: Initially, all of the pups just kind of wandered around each other. Then everything got a bit chaotic. I & F remained peaceful, but G decided she was not in a mood to hangout with J. And H decided he wasn't a fan of this show of sibling disfavor. F decided to play with J a bit - some playful nose-booping. H & I wrestled for a bit. G contemplated her previously poor attitude. A few minutes later it seemed that everyone's tempers had cooled and they were all playing in relative peace. Summary of Group Two Play: - Pup F: sweet & friendly; definitely a higher-energy pup. She wanted to play with all of her siblings.
- Pup G: a bit of a spit-fire this afternoon! It might just be that her energy doesn't match J's well, but she was definitely a bit grumpy during group play time.
- Pup H: this one seems to have a bit of a protective streak! When G was being rude to J, H loudly expressed his displeasure. He then hopped in to play with J, which was very sweet.
- Pup I: another high-energy and playful pup! I also really enjoyed playing with everyone and would move from pup-to-pup to have some one-on-one time.
- Pup J: initially a little unsure when in a larger group, J quickly matched his playmate's energy when they engaged with him in any way.
And on to the one-on-one interactions! F demanded attention from whichever pet was in the room. She immediately clicked with Horror and jumped around in front of her to get her attention. She also really like Arroyo and they snoozed near each other for a bit. She was a little irritated when he didn't wake up quick enough for more playtime. She would likely do well in a home where she could have equally high-energy playmates. G's previous grumpy mood had vanished by one-on-one playtime. She really clicked with Horror and kept leaping up and spinning in circles during their time together. Eventually she wore them both out and they settled in for a nap. She also enjoyed Arroyo and kept crouching down to initiate playtime. My guess is that she & J just might not be the best of buds (we all know family doesn't always get along). She might do better in a home where she's given a change to make some close friendships. H wasn't overly interested in either Arroyo or Horror. While Arroyo napped, he had a little posing session. Then, while Horror was out, he took a nap. He wasn't unfriendly, just preferred to do 'his own thing.' This was a bit surprising after the group playtime, but it's possible he does better with friends closer to his own age. Or, maybe, he was tired from acting as J's protector. True to form, I was a bit of a 'wild man'. Initially, when I brought Horror out, he didn't seem to notice her. But once he did, he was so excited to play. He and Horror spent several minutes playing peacefully. Arroyo was out next. I exhausted the poor guy after a few minutes. While he napped, I practiced some acrobatic tricks. He needs an owner who is going to be willing to keep him entertained! J had the best time playing with his new friends. Both Horror and Arroyo seemed utterly charmed. He and Horror danced around each other for several minutes. With Arroyo he preferred to leap and spin in excitement. Eventually they settled down and howled with each other (unfortunately I was only able to snap a photo of J mid-howl). J seems to be very sociable; he needs a home where he gets lots of time to make friends. Just one more group to go! Check back in a bit for Group Three ( K, L, M, N & O).

And we're back with our final group! Once again, I used Arroyo & Horror for our one-on-one sessions. Starting with the group play ... Immediately, out of the gate, we had some puppies showing off some attitude. M immediately wasn't happy with K. Then L was irritated because N knocked into her. And M continued to be annoyed. O also decided to be and angry and take out that rage by running rampant around the room. K just seemed confused. After a bit a few of the pups calmed down ... and a few continued to be irritated. Honestly, it wasn't the most productive group play of the day. I was almost tempted to redo it with different pups ... but I was getting a little tired. So we'll work with what we have. Summary of Group Three Play: - Pup K: she had a beef with at least one of the other puppies, but played very nicely with N. There was a lot of a chaos in the room, but she was initially excited and engaged and ended the time wrestling and playing.
- Pup L: though initially calm & engaged, L became less excited the longer she was out in the group. She just walked around calmly (for the most part) expressing her rage.
- Pup M: by far, the most antagonistic of the puppies in this group. He really wasn't a fan of someone (or more than one puppy, possibly). He did do a funny flip and then skootch his butt across the floor at one point; which was pretty entertaining
- Pup N: the calmest of the bunch. She was relatively unfazed by the hijinks of her littermates. She played when she felt like it, wandered around when the mood struck ...
- Pup O: probably the second calmest of the bunch; he was only disturbed when other pups rammed into him. He seemed to want a chance to get to know everyone - if only they would all calm down.
And on to the one-on-one interactions! K was such a sweetheart when she was playing one-on-one with both Horror and Arroyo - she even gave Arroyo a bath! This makes me think that the group play situation was an anomaly. However, I'm going to guess she probably prefers situations that don't involve a big crowd. She seems a little less energetic than some of the other pups, so I would think too much chaos isn't her thing. During the one-on-one interactions, L was calm and gentle. She definitely didn't enjoy being in the chaos of the larger group - I'm thinking she would do better in a home where she gets some one-on-one time either with her owner or other petz. She wasn't overly interested in engaging in play with the older pups, but she definitely liked having them in the room and would become sad when they left. Away from whoever was irritating him, M's high-energy personality immediately was on display. First he zoomed by Horror. Then he took a break for a posing session while she took a nap. When Arroyo was out, he flipped through the air, doing cartwheels at an almost dizzying pace. He is a high energy pup! He would probably do well in a home where he gets to be an agility puppy as well as a show puppy. N is Zen. She mostly liked just calmly gazing at Arroyo and Horror. After the chaos of some of the other pups, her energy was very soothing! Though she didn't play with either of the older dogz, she definitely enjoyed having them around. I think of her like a social introvert - she likes the petz equivalent of "people watching" ... she wants to be in the room, but not engaging in the party games. O really got a chance to have his personality shine during these one-on-one play sessions. He absolutely adores being around other petz. When they paid attention to him, he was ready to play. When they were doing something else, he would occasionally gaze at them - respectfully waiting to gain their attention again. He's a sweet baby. He needs a home where he gets to play with lots of other petz and make lots of friends. And that concludes the assessments of the pups! I'll be deciding which pup I'm keeping and then the list picks will begin.

I was fully intending NOT to choose one of the brexed pups, because other than using a variety of OWs to breed the pups, all of the pups were un-hexed/brexed, but J's sweet and silly personality won me over. I've named him Cronus (Witz's Mad Titan King). nebula, you're up! When you pick your pet just let me know what you're choosing for a call name/show name. Please note: The theme is " Gods & Goddesses," but I feel like that's pretty broad and should give everyone lots of room for creativity. If you're not sure on a call/show name yet, that's also fine --- just message me when you've picked a good name!

i was debating between N and B for ages, but i have chosen B in the end!
i was wanting an extreme spotted girl to add to my lines and she's just perfect, i don't think i have a 29 eyed dali in my crew yet either!
i've settled on the showname - Witz/Poppyhill's Of Smoky War and the call name "Bellona" for her <3
this was fun to follow, thank you so much for putting me on the list!

I would love to take home D please! I don't have a lemon spotted dali currently and I love the color with her eyes, and love the selfie ears haha <3 Her quieter, focused, posey personality also interested me ^^
Thank you so much Witzy!
