Emerson (SGCh Sz's Expression Necessary to Evolution) finally earned her SGCh title, so I decided it would be a good idea to check in on her and her daughter,
Pride. After getting stiffed by
Chosen, I felt
Emerson deserved a chance at love. Luckily, I have a couple of scotties I could potentially pair her up with!
Meet twin brothers Kozara (SGCh WPR's Small Dish), left, and Chuuzara (SGCh WPR's Medium-Sized Dish), right. They were both bred by Keyglyph , and they are also both Supreme Grand Champions! Like Emerson*, they are also both NIB Scotch & Sodas.
*Actually,
Emerson is not a S&S, although she was bred as part of my NIB S&S line. She's missing the chi boots, so I've been calling her a "heavy on the soda" instead
Here's a side-by-side look at their personalities:
First things first, we had to of course arrange a meeting with the boys. Here
Emerson is expressing her hesitancy about this whole process. Who can blame her after
Chosen?
Pretty soon, though, she was wrestling with
Kozara.
And basically only wrestling with
Kozara. For a long time, she completely ignored
Chuuzara. I thought she and
Kozara were on the road to becoming friends, but then...
Yep. They started growling at each other.
For the most part, though,
Emerson didn't have a problem with him.
Kozara was the instigator who would stare at her wherever she was in the room and bark/growl.
So it was time to put
Kozara away to see if she and
Chuuzara would get along any better.
For kind of a scary long time after I put
Kozara away, they just sat and stared at each other.
Finally, the ice was broken with a tackle.
Is that love in the air I sense??
I brought
Kozara out just one more time for a final chemistry check. He proceeded to be a jerk.
His favorite activity seems to be tripping
Emerson, so away he went again.
Instead I brought out
Pride.
Emerson feels strongly that to be with her, her future mate has to get along with her child.
Luckily, that doesn't seem to be a problem. I caught this super cute picture of
Pride giving
Chuuzara a tongue bath. I think she approves of her mom's new suitor!
Pride went back in the carrying case, and I decided to give these two a spray with the pink perfume bottle to see if that would speed things up between them.
Safe to say: yes!
Although I've been sitting here typing this all up while they continue to play together, and still no love heart. So maybe they need some extra convincing with the red love spray...
An hour and a half into this whole process (and flashbacks to my childhood of waiting forever for this very thing to happen), we've got a ~planned~ pregnancy!
I'm going to breed a whole litter between them, so I'll be back with pics of pups!
