What are bones?
Bones are the virtual currency of Whiskerwick.
What can I use bones for?
Like any currency worth its salt, you can exchange bones with other forum members in exchange for goods (petz, toyz, etc.) or services (like breeding or show handling).
What is a "donation" and how do I make one?
"Donation" is the word the currency plugin uses for transferring money between users. When you make a donation, that means you are sending bones from your account to someone else's. You can do this by going to their profile and clicking the "send donation" button in the top right.
You'll be presented with a form where you enter the amount and, optionally, a why/reference. This page in timed, so make sure not to take too long!
How do I receive a donation?
When someone has sent some bones your way, you'll typically (it's not 100% accurate) see a little notification bubble by your Donations tab. From there, simply "view donation" to see all the details, and then click "accept".
How can I earn bones?
You earn bones for posting on the forum. You can also earn bones by selling petz, offering services, etc. to other members in exchange for bones. Sometimes you can even win bones by participating in contests!
I made a few posts, but did not receive bones. How come?
Like all Proboards plugins, the currency plugin running on Whiskerwick only works on desktop browsers. If you are using a mobile browser, the plugin is not active and you will not receive bones for posting! Try visiting the forum on a laptop, PC or tablet, or switch to "desktop" mode on your phone's browser.
Posting in Bank Ledger or the Arcade does not generate bones.
I want to sell/offer something on the forum. How much should I charge?
That is completely up to you! You can charge as little or as much as you want. If you are unsure, try looking at other people's prices, or opt for a PWYW (pay what you want) policy.
Unfortunately, sometimes donations appear to glitch out and despite bones having been sent, the person on the receiving end never gets them. When this happens and you'd like a refund, please contact a mod (preferrably by PM) stating how many bones went missing and who was supposed to be on the sending and the receiving end. We will reimburse the person on the receiving end asap.
Why can't I make donations or see the donations tab?
This may happen when you make a donation and the person on the receiving end rejects it. Normally, you then get a pop-up notifying you of this event, blocking your ability to use bones until you click 'accept' on it. The issue arises if Adblock (or similar) blocks the pop-up without notifying the user (which it usually does, but tends not to do). To fix the issue, simply disable whatever program is blocking pop-ups for you and address the 'donation was rejected!' notification. Your access to donations should be restored and it's safe to turn your Adblock back on.
To keep other from experiencing this inconvenience, please try to avoid rejecting donations with an incorrect amount of bones. Rather, accept the incorrect donation and make a new donation to correct it.
What do I do if someone doesn't have the bones to complete an agreed upon transaction with me?
It is up to you whether they still want to go on with the sale/other transaction, and for what price. You may agree on a lower price the buyer can afford, wait for them to save up more bones, or cancel the sale altogether. If you see someone repeatedly overspending, please report it to a mod. Accidents happen, but constantly running near bankruptcy is not fair to anyone you're buying from!
Why do I get an error message saying "Key Data Limit Reached" when sending a donation?
This happens when the person on the receiving end has a lot of unadressed incoming donations. Your donation should still go through like normal if you click "Close". The error message will stop appearing if the person on the receiving end cleans out their incoming donations by either accepting or rejecting them.
