i figured it'd be nice to have somewhere to document stuff i'm doing... im not gonna put tons of effort into this, it'd defeat the purpose of it being for fun akjnsldkfng, but i decided to try and play in a more oldschool fashion for a little while. it's nice to just spend time with a few treasured petz and see what happens!
for now, i've picked three petz that i've already bonded with individually: Jeff, Llewelyn, and Syrup. here they are in order:
syrup is a newer addition to the crew; i think i had her out in the bg accidentally for a while once when i was doing other things and we just kind of bonded that way... the other two i've had for a good while!
llewelyn and jeff REALLY don't get along, but syrup likes them both a lot!
she likes llewelyn best, though.
i spent some time today just hanging out with jeff first - i figure llewelyn and syrup will probably end up having kittens at some point if they're left alone long enough, and i wanted to get some jeff time in before that happened.
we had a nice time in this playscene for a bit. jeff's favourite colours are red and blue, and his favourite flavours are beef and bone, so i try to give him those as often as i can... he often goes for the green cat food bowl instead of dog food though, which is weird since it's fish-flavoured and green.
he had some breakfast, then we did a little trick training and i fed him some milk since he was pretty skinny
i tried letting llewelyn out to see him after a while but they IMMEDIATELY started fighting (llewelyn was chasing him! he's usually such a nice cat) so i figured it was maybe time to hang with llewelyn and syrup instead
right now they're in a Secret Garden playscene, being horrendously affectionate and trading toys
as cute as they are, i do kind of wish petz in love could still behave like friends too - they get really distracted by one another after a while...
i'm looking forward to raising whatever kitten they have, though it'll be a few days before it's born! (syrup isn't pregnant yet, but i figure it's only a matter of time)

peachpup gave us some really cute hexies in exchange for some hexies of our own, so i took a little break from hanging with Llewelyn and the others so I could meet them
i haven't fully decided on their names yet... they came named Amber and Goldiepaws respectively, but i'm thinking of maybe calling the tiger something else... we'll see though
they're not too interested in each other - i have the feeling they might end up disliking each other as adults. they both like to play with toys though and can kind of parallel play in the same room together, so that's a lot better than fighting!
i like them both so much already!
goldiepaws falls asleep instantly if i pick her up.

i think maybe this is the cutest picture though.

didn't play much petz today, mostly liveblogged some breeding experiments to Arie using her Bobtail base for funsies
i did get attached to a bobtail i adopted from the AC though, and decided to keep her as a real companion instead of breeding fodder.
her name is babygirl. she likes to hunt everything in sight, even food bowls and her favourite toys (so far, the brush - she hasn't really interacted with many others yet)
she has a very long tongue! she seems surprised by this revelation.
after a little break, i took her out again and decided to give her some individuality... maybe i'll brex her sometime - probably nothing fancy, just some eye colour changes and maybe some patchwork markings - but for now i think she's happy just having cool clothes to wear
i was watching a friend's livestream while i played, so i just held the brush on babygirl for a solid five minutes at one point. she was VERY pleased.
she also likes cheesecake! it was her first meal with me so i figured it should be something special
after all that food, she was getting sleepy.

Oh God I don't even remember when I last played properly, I've mostly been too busy just fixing up the Shipwreck revamp... I did spend some time with Sprout this morning though - I won her last night in PeachPup's TFM auction and was immediately enamoured! She'll have to meet the Raichu I got from gyiyg a while back sometime soon... I would love to have more Pokemon petz in general, it's just pretty hard to find files I super vibe with like these ones. I think this one, the Raichu, and lunarlex's Growlithe files are the only ones off the top of my head that I adore. There's also some really good files by the Skinstealers at Bad Death, but I have trouble bonding with AC petz from public breedfiles most of the time for some reason, at least if I'm adopting them myself and then hexing them myself - I might hit Mortis up for a custom off of a couple files though. Namely the Raitoraz, maaaaybe the Sobble and Snom? We'll see!
Anyway, without further ado: here's some pictures of Sprout! I guess this could also go in my newcomers thread buuuuut I'm posting it here instead because I spent a lil while with her today.
I gave her a lil sprout and she really liked it! She didn't like the hat I tried on her next as much, but it was REALLY cute.

She was very glad to have the hat off, and her sprout back on!
I introduced her to a couple of toys I made - she pounced at the umbrella and batted it a bit, then played with the teddy bear for a while.
This toy by gyiyg turned out to be her favourite though! It's a really cute toy and she likes to drop it off of ledges.
There was something unsettling about seeing a Bulbasaur eat sushi.
She loved these donuts! She is also NOT a trickster, haha. I wasn't too surprised since she kind of just didn't seem like the type (she has a BWS personality), but I always like to test my new catz out just in case. I've had a few surprises before!
She got scruffed for wall-scratching crimes. This made her rethink her choices for approximately four seconds before she went back to destroying things.
Aaaand finally, some other fun expressions she made:
She's a lot of fun! I feel like I don't know her very well yet, but I'm sure that'll change. I also find it interesting that she doesn't seem that interested in me so far - I think she did come to the cursor and such, but something about her kind of makes me feel like she just doesn't like me very much yet!

we snagged this lovely lil pup from the WW prizebox today! i've been avoiding adopting petz for the most part lately because i have like... literally over 100 that i need to sort into folders or add to my crew site, and since i'm not playing petz much right now anyway it always feels unfair to adopt from people when someone else could love that pet more haha. but i looked at this gal and just could NOT resist.
here she is sleeping while i type this entry!
her name is still Scrappie right now but i'm hoping to find something else for her at some point, maybe after i've gotten to know her a little better. she was hexed by Amanda and she's just SUCH a little bundle of love... thank you Amanda for donating her to the prizebox ;;
i started off just by dressing her up and letting her play in the livingroom while i was doing other stuff - it's been a while since i let a petz keep me company like that, and i was pleasantly surprised to find that Scrappie didn't howl for my attention or anything. she seems pretty content to just do her own thing until she gets hungry/tired, but she likes my attention when she gets it too, which is ideal!
(as i'm typing this, she's woken up from her nap, so i brushed her a little and left her to play with the toys i left for her.)
when i came back from doing stuff she was hungry, so we went to the kitchen and she scarfed down some food after being briefly distracted by a cockroach. i worried she might still be hungry so i figured i'd give her some treats! here she is experiencing a sardine for the first time.
she took to training really well and only did some clumsy flops once or twice. i taught her to jump forwards and slide down the screen, to roll over, and to sit! i forgot how much i love mutt puppies haha, they're so goofy and i really love their barks and general personalities.
after training she was pretty tired (and getting a tiny bit chunky because i was overzealous with the sardines... whoopsie) so i packed up some toys and a pillow for her and took her to one of my favourite cozy playscenes, the one i first showed you all. here she is getting ready for bed!
and falling over, for some reason. i don't remember what she was doing here haha
well, like i said, she woke up while i was typing this entry. she really wanted the green shoe off of the bed, but she's too small to get it by herself...
we played fetch with the shoe and a bone for a little bit while i was still typing, but at some point i tabbed back in and she'd somehow gotten a stick... and the shoe is gone! she must have swapped them out offscreen!
look at that smug face. i think someone mentioned recently that that's a Naughty behaviour, so i checked her stats - but her Naughtiness is only 9! maybe she was just feeling mischeivous or bored... she has 100 intelligence and playfulness though, which doesn't surprise me at all. acrobaticness and liveliness are both super high too - she's a really spirited little thing!
it's time for me to close the game and do other things for a bit, but here's a parting picture of Scrappie for you.

back at it with Scrappie... I had such a nice time with her last time that I just kinda wanted to hang out again today too. As I'm typing this introduction though I have a bunch of the medicat hexies out just for background noise until I catch up with where Scrappie and I are at haha. here they all are!
I really want to change the textures of some of them... Most of them are fine as they are, but the yellow and brown ones really don't work for me so I think I'm gonna update them at some point.
They are goofy creatures. I love Egyptian Maus a lot... If I remember right they're based off of Russian Blues right? Makes sense that I like 'em so much then because RBs were one of my favourites growing up!
So far all six of them get along reasonably well too, which surprised me - only two of them don't, and there's no fighting, just a lot of chasing. I'm so used to all hell breaking loose if I take more than one or two petz out at a time LMAO.
Anyway, back to Scrappie!
As soon as I took her out, she picked up the stick she'd somehow acquired last time and looked around like this for a while... It's such an odd animation - I think I usually see it before a dog starts playing or digging with a toy? It looks so sneaky!
I know you're planning something, missy.
After that she just picked up toys and brought them to me for fetch.
I should try some new toys with her at some point, I'm glad she likes the stick and bone so much but it'd be nice for her to have some variety! I brushed her for a little while after to see where she'd like being petted best - I think just under her chin is her favourite? It's harder to tell with the brush though.
She started doing that FACE again so I tried to get a clip of it, but by the time I'd opened screentogif she had started doing this instead:
I figured we could go and dress up a little before heading out into the world - she hadn't had breakfast yet but didn't seem hungry, so I thought it'd be nice to just introduce her to some new toys and see which ones she liked best. I haven't checked her favourite colour or flavour yet so it'll be interesting to see what I think she likes based on my gameplay versus what she ACTUALLY likes according to her coding... I think I'll probably wait til she's fully grown to check, though.
Here she is rolling around while she waits for me to tab back in and dress her up.
I was gonna go for Spring colours but when I put this brown sweater on her she really liked it... I also put some butter on her head just for fun 
I tried a couple other outfits and really she liked all of them, which I wasn't expecting! Guess she just really likes playing with clothes. Finally settled on this one though - I liked her original bow but the smaller one works a little better with her lil folded ears.
Peep those beans.
Then it was time for the toy closet... I hadn't quite decided where I wanted to take her next, so I figured we could just play with some toys in there for a while until I decided which toys to take with us and where to go. I introduced her to the basket first and she immediately tried to pick it up! You're too small, Scrappie!
Just for fun, I picked out a flower vase to see how she'd react to it... I don't remember if she was particularly hesitant to interact with any of the objects I've given her before, but the flowers really threw her off for a few minutes! She's super posey too so it was a little hard to get pictures without her getting distracted and showing off haha. Maybe I could enter her in shows in the future though!
Eventually she was brave enough to try shoving her whole face into the flowers. Then she brought them to me to presumably play fetch with, which seems to be her default response to basically any item that isn't food.
She was very pleased with herself.
I ran out of steam for diary-writing so I'll have to finish our adventures either later or just another day... But before I go, have a gift.

whoops it's been a while. recently we adopted an AC oshie for a system member and she is very sweet!! she makes friends with other petz really easily, everyone who meets her loves her!!
after we got her an outfit, pan ran out on their own to greet her. they got along well! after that, iron came to the door to see too, so we let him out. they got along SUPER well it was very cute. iron is a purebred GSD who never got adopted, so we ended up keeping him haha
(she did start happy dancing once we put both him and Pan away, which makes me wonder if they'll hate each other once she's an adult and the game is just preventing the adults from bullying a child)
god she is so cute though... i like just watching her; usually i take her out when her owner (the system member we mentioned) needs to calm down or feel comforted, and we just pet her and give her toys and such
she also met Herringbone, who's i think JUST turned adult but still looks like a puppy
they seemed to get along okay but i did want her to have an actual puppy/kitten playmate, so i introduced her to Fuddlewuddle and an unnamed kitten we adopted from Cargo!
i wasn't sure if scaredy liked fuddlewuddle very much... and then lo and behold, fuddlewuddle started chasing her so i had to put him away...
...and the unnamed kitten ATTACKED her so i had to put him away too!
scaredy was sad about it... i thought i'd try one more time to find a playmate for today: plush, a persian kitten adopted from arie (sorry to scaredy for startling her with the camera for these pics)
they really didn't seem interested in each other either way. and scaredy did this, which i've never seen a non-alley do??
i put Plush away after that and yeah she did NOT care at all haha
so no playmates for her yet, but maybe she's happy that way. she gets lots of love from us anyways
