I can see that you're frustrated with the whole project and that's alright... we can all relate to this if we're doing something big. I just want to ask though... when will the first build of this be complete and then be released? Will it be before the end of the year? I ask because, I got myself some Petz from Petz 5 that I'm dying to play with I hope it's sometime soon. Don't be doing too much

I'm hoping to finish it sometime within the next two months. That's a generous estimate, it may very well be shorter. I just don't wanna keep promising and then being unable to deliver ;w; Thanks for your understanding and sorry for the wait <3 Edit: I've also been doing some more digging into .pet files, trying to decode certain small sections that don't look like anything obvious...just in case. The only bad part is that Petz 5 crashes when I try to run it through ollydbg, so I can't do much reversing on that front. Reversing P4 should be enough though.

That's exciting to hear Reflet! I'm glad you're able to say that with confidence, not just because it means it'll be coming soon but because it means you have enough confidence in yourself to do it! I get giddy just thinking of this project. xD

Took a small hiatus from coding because it was frustrating me and I didn't want to start hating it lol. I'm back now. Right now I'm working on making the checksum calculation algorithm its own standalone thing, so that I can mess with files to my heart's content and then see if the game will load them.
I've gotten inspired with coding again because I wrote a simple program to aid in a project that I've become a part of in the past month or so. The project is a fandub of BlazBlue: Central Fiction. Because we didn't have written scripts (the director just uploaded a video of what would be our first episode and we were supposed to get our lines from that), I decided to "borrow" the PC version of the game so I could dig through its files. I found the scripts, but they weren't very readable at all, not least of which because there were no line breaks whatsoever. So, I coded a thing that took the game's script files and converted them into plaintext (with proper line breaks!) that could be opened in notepad.
So yeah. That gave me a confidence boost with this lol. I say this a lot, but thanks everyone for being so patient with me.

Okay, I'm ready to buckle down and finish this project once and for all. Sorry for the wait. I'm not gonna screw around anymore. I owe it to you guys after all my talk. I need to reverse engineer one more part of .pet files before I can successfully convert them. My checksum algorithm works, and I've used it to recalculate P4 files' checksums with success. Petz 5 changes pretty much all entries in the YALP, DEFB, CSID, AERT, ELFM, and ETAM sections. These are located after the LNZ section and keep track of a pet's life experiences. I'm thinking that the values are possibly a mixture of timestamps and identifiers of sorts. If anyone has any further information, please let me know. I'll probably make a thread in my home board documenting my findings.
